Reviewing team Quintimate’s innovation project, it seems the team has picked the most relevant pain point within the supply chain world today… Delays and congestion at ports.

Today, the US ports are longing for much needed automation, in order to reduce congestion and delays.

The solution and more importantly, the various options considered for the solution demonstrate team’s ability to understand the root cause of the problem.

Ultimately, the practical feasibility and cost of a hyperloop within a port or between marine terminal and the hinterland operations like rail terminal, can present a lot of roadblocks. However, the idea is out of the box brilliant and is at least worthy of a feasibility study. If not today, maybe in 10 years when Musk and his troop figure out a commercially viable hyperloop, it’s application in the maritime cargo operations can be a game changer. Kudos to team Quintimate.

- lastly, a quick mention of how they came up with a prototype using electromagnetic battery “train” and incorporate EV3 and legos in the demo shows their ingenuity.
